From the archives* – alix swan

I seriously think I have found my favourite seller ever in Alix Swan. Seriously cute mini books for all who love fairy tales and stories.

alix 1

How cute is this set depicting Dorothy’s shoes from The Wizard of Ozcomplete with a book that uses images from the story. Those shoes are just adorable!

alix 2

Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair. Well she can with this fabuloustower story book.

alix 3

This foldout version of Thumbelina would make a perfect birth or Christening gift.

alix 4

These dust jacket books are also perfect for birthday gifts – so cute with their illustrated and decorative dust jackets.

alix 5

And if you prefer something simple then these zigzag books are perfect for that!

From the archives* – swans

I have been dreaming today about moving house (I do this every so often!) and one of the houses I looked at was near to a canal that has lots of swans on it. Hence the post!

odile

This ‘Odile’ necklace is beautiful and would make a perfect gift for lovers of Swan Lake. Get it from Made With Love.

dress

You don’t see many swans on clothes although if they all looked like this fabulous purple mini dress from Zoe Chen then I sure we would see more!

sushi

I love the work of Sushipot and this collage from the Bricolage range is lovely.

la pomme

As soon as I thought of swans I knew I had to feature some of La Pomme’sbeautiful creatures – simple yet elegant.

bjork

Who remembers Bjork in her white swan dress? Well if not you can own your own version with this fabulous finger puppet from Ding Dong.

This necklace is beautiful – the colours work really well together. Get it fromEinat Agmon.

With_Love_Card

This card by Claire Hurd is cute and is beautifully styled too!

bib

This bib would make a cute gift for a newborn baby boy from his older siblings. Get it from Green-Eyed Butterfly.

tote

This tote has been made by Kiimo Factory using fabric she printed herself – I love the shell motif.

snuggle

This cute saying appears on a greetings card by weehah! It sounds like the perfect night in to me!

From the archives* – dancing finds

We are heading up to school soon to watch our elder daughter dance in the school Christmas play so I thought I would feature some cute dancing things I have found.

I love the ‘floaty’ feeling of the dancer in this watercolour and gouche painting by Creation Myth.

This gorgeous tutu has been made by Trinity’s Tutus – perfect for little ones to twirl in. Is it wrong that I’m wondering if they make them in adult sizes?

Endicott has got to be the cutest dancing dog I have seen! He is made from the inner parts of retired pianos and is available from Melsville.

More ballet items but this time they are these cute ballerina thank you notes that are available from Ali Design.

Now I personally would love a birthday cake with these ballerina figures on top even though I have never harboured a desire to be a ballerina! You can find these cupcake toppers in The Plastic Hut’s shop.

* *I’m incredibly busy with getting ready for a four day fair that starts today (argh!) so I’m dipping into the Cuteable archives until the first week of December to give myself time to get ready for it! This post was first written in November 2008. Enjoy!

From the archives* – cuteable finds

Now my daughter classified this piece of art work as cute and I think I agree with her – dinosaurs can be cute in a starnge kind of way! This piece is available from Crayon Monster.

This OOAK doll plush from Pipodoll is just adorable – I love the fact that it is all hand drawn too.

These rollerskate ornaments are great and would be perfect as holiday decorations. Available from Art School Dropout.

How cool (and slightly geeky) are these scrabble inspired pillows fromHydrogen2Foxygen?

Renee’s Paper and Yarn has these very cute tiny amigurumi houselettes for sale. They could be adapted to become keyrings or ornaments.

From the archives * – Books, zines and comics

To a town held in the grip of terror by the vile dinosaur bandit Tarpit Slim, comes a stranger. A stranger who believes in the sanctity of life, of freedom, of justice. With a description like that how can you not want to read this comic by Tiny Astronaut.

This comic titled Whimsiology 1 is chock full of delicious looking illustrations and can be bought from Whimsiology.

Hah – this zine from Weird Bug Lady is perfect for me as I doodle whenever there is a pencil and paper!

This children’s book by Tash Pink is another with beautiful illustrations and follows the adventures of two cats called Yeti and Daphne.

I really like the work of Champignons and was thrilled to see this little zine entitled Threads.

From the archives* – Paper n Stitch

Paper n Stitch is a site that offers a great selection of handmade goods and independent designers in one place. Here are some of my favourites from it.

Bombus uses old maps, postage stamps and other ephemera to create unique and fun gifts – I love this caravan card.

Some more cards but this time they are some brightly coloured fabric dot cards from Anna Ruby King.

Pretty the elephant has been made by Kiss Prudence and I think you will agree that her name suits her!

I’m always torn when I look through the Summersville shop as to which screenprinted fabrics I want to buy. I think this avenue fabric in apple green is my favourite at the moment.

I also really like this limited edition painting from APAK shop. Whimsical and brightly coloured – my favourite things!
