Angel Robinson’s stationery is not only beautiful but carries with it a story that is both heart-wrenching and inspiring. A native New Orleanian who worked in the Mayor’s office helping entrepreneurs, Angel lost her home and all of her possessions in Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Despite this overwhelming tragedy, she decided to make the best out of her ordeal by following her heart and starting Write Robinson, a stationery design house.

I’m glad Angel followed her heart, because her cards are simply gorgeous. She sent me a few samples yesterday and I was first impressed by the presentation (she packs her cards in a reusable jute drawstring bag) and then by the quality of the cards themselves. Using recycled cotton rags which are hand-marbled in India, Write Robinson’s papers are thick and textured with deckled edges. Each Bella card features a patterned trim (Coral Reef is the one I received) which is embellished with a contrasting ribbon band; a lined envelope and elegant semi-transparent stickers are also part of the package.
Angel can also personalize your cards; above are several flats that she customized with my name that are still under development but are very cute! Always passionate about paperie, she is happy to work with you to choose the perfect card for your special event; just click here for details. If you’d like to see more of her stationery, visit Write Robinson here!
