If handmade were to be embodied in a person, I would very much picture someone like Mademoiselle A. Living in Germany in a little old house, amidst hills shrouded in mist and meandering alleys, her creations draw upon the finer, handcrafted traditions of the past. Above: sweet little bird and mushroom brooches, perched on vintage wooden buttons alongside flocked leaves and red berries; precious drawstring key pouches crafted from antique linen and accented with polyclay mushrooms.

This is not to say that Mademoiselle A. is permanently mired in nostalgia; she successfully fuses the old with the new with her lovely linen keychains and cellphone loops.
