the photography of suzanne clements

Filled with amazing snapshots of butterflies captured in time, suspended in midair, Suzanne Clements’ photography seems like the the stuff of magic, but they’re all thanks to an amazingly deft touch. Her composition is at once casual yet profound, made all the more so with her use of an antique Argus camera which naturally adds in dusk and speckles.

Suzanne writes that this aged look gives a sense of mystery to her photographs, and I agree. There is something intensely atmospheric about her work, like air that is so thick with nostalgia that you could cut into it with a knife. Photographs of vintage items (like the ones above) only add to this sense; if you’d like to see more, please stop by her shop!
