the dreamy giraffe

The eyes are not just for show with these lovely paintings by KJ; each one tells a story, ranging from tongue-in-cheek (“The Monster Is Out”) to comforting (“More Fish in the Sea”). KJ generally paints with acrylic and offers quite a few originals in her shop; more affordable limited edition reproductions are also available for those of us on a budget.

My favorite pieces are the collages; she hand-cuts pieces of decorative paper and then bonds them with acid-free adhesive on canvas, mixing them with acrylic paint for a wonderfully original effect. As KJ is currently stuck at home due to the summer heat (“hot enough to fry and egg on the back of your neck”; she’s definitely from the South!), she’s been a busy bee and has lots of new work on the way at her Etsy shop!

Hi, there! I actually stumbled upon Cuteable sometime last month and absolutely loved it…and in fact bookmarked it to check out potentially advertising here later on (when my advertising budget is um, existent)! Anyway, thank you so much. This positively made my day. And it really is hot enough to fry an egg on the back of your neck here.
Thanks again! Cuteable’s awesome and I’m happy to be a part of it today!
