the art of aline yamada

A full-time mama and part-time artist and illustrator, Aline Yamada’s beautiful artwork has taken off like a rocket ever since opening her Etsy store in late May. It’s easy to see why; her work is at once both cute without being saccharine, elegant without being snooty.
Despite the vagaries of using the word beautiful, I can without a doubt apply this to Aline’s art. Vivid colors seem to appear and coalesce as if nature herself was organically painting each piece, with subtle textures all the while tickling your eyeballs.

From a practical sense this is made possible by Yamada’s wonderful use of various media including pencil, ink, watercolor and goauche; she usually starts with an original illustration which is then digitally colored and tweak. The end result is something that is neither wholly in the physical nor the digital realm, but something entirely new. I hope you enjoy her work as much as I have; to purchase her prints, visit her Etsy shop or visit her blog to learn more.
