sixth and elm

Sixth and Elm’s amazing tree sculptures are beautifully detailed; each is made from hundreds of feet of copper wire which is hand-twisted to form individual branches and twigs. Add to that the layers of seed beads and I can only imagine how many hours go into each piece! The results really do speak for themselves; her Apple Blossom tree is resplendent in pink and reminds me of the height of Spring, while even her Winter Tree is raw and powerful with its branches laid bare.

In addition to the tree sculptures, Sixth and Elm also creates stunning woodburned boxes; also known as pyrography, I’m literally torn between the patterned boxes (the Japanese foliage above is *amazing*) and the ones that are covered in script. I don’t know why, but there’s something intensely sentimental about the latter. To see more of her work (she also sells picture frames and hard-drive clocks), please visit her shop here!

Those tree sculptures are absolutely astonishing! So gorgeous and detailed! I can only imagine how calming and inspiring it must be to have something like that decorating your room.
Great find!
