cotton monsters by jennifer strunge

It’s hard not to like Jennifer Strunge’s Cotton Monsters … everything from the crazy, often misshapen teeth to the vintage fabrics and wonderfully bright colors really makes me want to get one. If you do, however, you’ll need to wait–these dolls are one-of-a-kind (no two are 100% alike) and are currently sold out. So Cuteable readers, I’ll be forever grateful if you can snag one for me. I’ll even send you a free (slightly stale) pretzel, promise!

Totally kidding on that one–the pretzel would be fresh–but what I’m not kidding about is Cotton Monster’s appeal. In June alone, her stock of 24 monsters sold out in only 12 hours! What’s especially inspiring is that Jennifer is a one-woman show, which is good news to all of us out there trying to make it on our own; it shows that it doesn’t take a factory to succeed nowadays.

Jennifer also does something that most large companies would balk at–she uses recycled clothes and linens in all her monsters, which totally gets extra brownie points in the eco-friendly+nostalgia departments. She’s working on her next batch which should arrive soon, so be sure to check out her shop. If you want to read more about her daily life (she just got a new studio!), check out her blog here!
