beehive kitchenware

Inspired by old homes and flea markets, Sandra Bonazoli and Jim Dowd combined their metalsmithing skills and good design sense to create an alternative to common, plain kitchen utensils and accessories. The result is Beehive Kitchenware, whose pieces regularly blend attention to detail with little unexpected twists of creativity.

From lead-free pewter, Sandra and Jim handcast consistently playful (yet sensible) items that includes hooks shaped like birds and heart-shaped pancake spatulas. There is at the same time a very high-quality feel to their work; as a result, I can definitely see Beehive Kitchenware being handed down to successive generations, just like treasured kitchen heirlooms given to us by our own mothers and grandmothers.

  1. I fell in love with the spoons before I saw the prices… I guess I will have to justify them as “priceless heirlooms”!
